AYC Manager dispatches all moves using optimized job scoring. Optimized job scoring relies on the concept of job solutions to determine the optimal dispatch job. A job solution is a permutation of the jobs in the ASC job list, representing a theoretical job dispatching sequence. Each job solution has a job solution score, which is a calculated aggregation of the job scores in the job list. The first job in the job solution, which is the one with the lowest score, is deemed the best job to dispatch.
You can reduce or increase AYC Manager's job solution scoring on the container level by applying a penalty or a bonus through a unit facility visit (UFV) flex string field. You can do this either through the user interface or the scripting interface in XPS. The score affects all ASC-related moves for the particular container. See also Apply an external score increment (on page 1).
Configuring external score increment involves specifying the flex field to use for applying the external score.
To configuring external score increment:
Configure one of the following flex fields in N4 (the field name in parenthesis identifies the corresponding field in XPS):
ufvFlexString05 (USRJ)
ufvFlexString06 (USRK)
ufvFlexString07 (USRL)
ufvFlexString08 (USRM)
ufvFlexString09 (USRN)
ufvFlexString10 (USRO)
Navis recommends that you set the length of the flex field to 6 characters. The value stored in the flex field can be one of the following:
A positive integer to increase the job score (penalty). This reduces the likelihood of the container being selected for ASC dispatching.
A negative integer to decrease the job score (bonus). This increases the likelihood of the container being selected for ASC dispatching.
For more information on how do to this, see Configure a flex field in N4 in the online help or on the Kaleris Community Portal.
Make the flex field visible in XPS.
For more information on how to do this, see Make flex fields visible in XPS in the online help or on the Kaleris Community Portal.
Set XPS setting ASCESF to point to the corresponding XPS field.
Display the flex field in the work queue window.
For example, if you labeled the flex field ASC ExtScore, add this attribute to the window.
All unit facility visit string flex fields are available from the Other/Misc menu.
You can then apply the external score (on page 1) to any container using the scripting feature in XPS.
ASCESF Setting
Type: Setting
Description: Points to the XPS field that stores the external score adjustment value. AYC Manager uses this value in addition to the calculated value for deciding which job to dispatch.
The XPS field has a corresponding flex field in N4 that you first need to configure on the N4 side.
To change this setting, see Change XPS settings with the SPARCS settings.txt file in the Navis N4: Setup, Maintenance, and System Diagnostics Guide.
Possible Values: USRJ, USRK, USRL, USRM, USRN, USRO
